The Common Basilisk or better known as the "Jesus Lizard" spends it's time lying by the water, sunbathing. This Lizard is able to run across the water so that it can hunt for it's food, there for the the nick name, Jesus Lizard.  

The Satanic Leaf Tailed Gecko get's it's name because it looks like it has horns on the top of his head. This gecko also has an amazing way of camoflaging, the tail on this gecko looks exactly like a leaf, helping the gecko because they live in trees. They can also change color making them hard to see. 

The orangutangs live in the trees. they make nests not just to sleep in but also for raising their families. The orangutangs biggest preditor is the tiger, so they have adapted by staying off the ground at night and keeping their families safe in the trees. Being in the trees also helps them because their diet is mostly fruit so they can get the fruit off the trees. 

The little Aye-Aye looks like a cross between a bat and a monkey. the Aye-Aye's biggest preditor is humans. People in Madigascar hunt these little creatures because they belive they can bring death. To avoid being hunted they have become nocternal. Being nocternal also helps animals escape the heat during the day. 

The Okapi is a very interesting species, They look part giraffe and part zebra. they are a relative to giraffe but not the zebra so they are not completley sure where the zebra legs came from. The Okapi is threatend by poachers because of their unique patterns and meat. because of this they are usually in dense parts of the forest so they can comouflage. 

The Poison Arrow Frog may be small but it is no where near powerless. Since this creature is only about the size of a man's thumb nail it can not fight off it's prey. to survive they have bright colors to warn off their enimies. They are also very poisonous. They are so poisonous that they can cause death or paralyisis. Even though they are so small one of these frogs carries enough poison to kill about 100 people. The frog got it's name because hunters would put their poison on the tips of their arrows. 

The Blue Morpho Butterfly is one of the biggest butterflies in the world, however it is also too small to fight off it's preditors. The butterlfy survives by it's beautiful colored wings. The top of the wings is bright blue with some black, the bottom is brown colored with eye like shapes on it. As the butterfly flies the contrast between the top and bottom makes it seem as if it keeps disappearing and reappearing. 

The African grey parrot is Affrica's largest parrot. It is beautiful with it's different shades of grey and a red tail. They grow to be about 13 inches in length. To stay safe at night the parrots move away from feeding areas in big groups, you can usually see about 100 of these parrots in one tree. 

The Praying Mantis get's it's name

simply from the way it stands when

it's resting, with it's legs folded up

as if it's praying. The Praying Mantis uses camouflage to hide from their preditors and also sneak up on their prey. Not only do they blend in with their surroundings but they also mimic it, for example to look like leaves, grass, or stones.  

The Amazon River Dolphin is about 6.5 feet in length and varies in colors of pink. There are a couple differences in this dolphin and other dophins. For example this dolphin can turn its head side to side and also paddle forward with one fin and backwards with the other, this adaptation helps the dolphin when the river floods.
